My name is Tristan Holt and I am excited to be the Youth Director here at SSUMC. I am twenty-four years old and graduated Southern Nazarene University in May of 2014, with a B.S. in theology/ministry. As soon as I graduated I began to look for a youth pastor position and even though it took me almost a year I believe that God has been a part of this process and I look forward to partnering with you as we seek the Kingdom together.
The church is a community that is made up of a very diverse group of people, and the beauty is that, as Paul says, there is no Jew or Gentile, slave or free, or male or female, but a community of God’s creation looking to fulfill “Thy Kingdom Come”. I want you all to feel that you are partners in the youth ministry here and take an interest in what is going on. I want you all to know that you are more than welcome to join us! The wisdom of the older generation and energy of the younger one working together can accomplish immeasurable things.
Here is a little about me. I am very close with my family, who consist of my mom, dad, little brother, and little sister. I live with my dad currently in Tulsa while my mom and siblings live in Broken Arrow. I have a very strong core group of friends who have been around since Broken Arrow High School. Both family and friends have supported me one hundred percent in this journey and I would not be here without them. I am an avid sports fan and in my down time, depending on the season, I will either be watching a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game or an Oklahoma Sooners football game.
Please, don’t forget that we are partners in this together and I want to hear your opinion and thoughts on the current state of the youth ministry or with any decisions I make in the future. I value your insight and opinions, and feel that without your help and support we will not be able to reach our goals.
Peace and Love,
